Brandies born in Koktebel are fragrant, aged and possess a refined taste. Thus every brand has its special taste gamut, its connoisseurs and certainly its own history 

Possessing the high culture of the vine making and unique technology of preparation, many generations of Koktebel masters developed age-old traditions of mastery and made a wide assortment of fine wines and collection brandies.

The construction of the existent distillery began in Koktebel in 1958 on initiative of M.A. Macedonskiy, the director of the state farm. A production was then supervised by a talented wine-maker of A.I. Gavrilov, who devoted his whole life to his favourite job. Here the experience and traditions of masters-wine-makers were studied, new technologies were adopted, new brands of brandies were developed. And in 1965 the first batch of 1000 decalitres of ordinary brandy was prepared. The first was the vintage brandy Koktebel of 1967, produced from the vintage of 1961. In seven years’ time its taste qualities won a high appraisal in Yerevan, at the all-USSR conference of brandy distillery workers. Since 1975 famous vintage brandy Crimea had a production issue. 
             
In the course of time brandy production in Koktebel changed and perfected in all directions. In the seventies there appeared a new workshop for the long-term maturing of brandy in oak casks. Annually the brandy plant processes 200 — 250 thousand decalitres of wine materials, producing 100 000 decalitres of brandy every year. Nowadays the assortment of factory is presented by such famous brands, as vintage and collection brandies: Crimea, Koktebel (the best brandy of 2001 on Choice of the year festival results) and aged more than 25 years unique Kutuzov brandy.

The distillery has been producing brandy for more than forty years. Adhering to its old traditions together with developing new, ones wine-makers experiment a lot creating refined brandies, highly-acclaimed both by consumers and professionals. The confirmation of this is the Grand Prix Cup, 17 gold and 4 silver medals, a great number of diplomas and deeds, conquered by brandies of Koktebel distillery at the International tasting competitions. Again and again they build up the reputation of Koktebel as the acknowledged producer of Crimean high quality brandies.
