History of the vine making is so ancient, so is the history of humanity
Cultivation of vine in Crimea began as early as ancient times. Its lands befitted for this purpose as better as possible due to the geographical and climatic position. Picturesque «blue» hills protect Koktebel from cold winds and fogs. Air here is dry, clear, filled with the aroma of herbages and the sea. And the climate is so soft that even in winter roses blossom here. Such weather favorably influences on the grape harvest. Moderately warm days are created for making white table wines. And excellently red grape which dessert wines are made from ripens in the hot summertime.
The statement that the «wine is a product of locality» finds here the confirmation. Soil in the valley is generously shares its wealth with the vine. No figs expose the aroma and taste so thinly as those that grown in Koktebel. Vine that grows on lime soils ideally befits for the production of high-quality white table wines. Dessert wines are especially good if they are made from vine grown on volcanic soils. Raging once volcano of Kara-dag gave them to Koktebel. Soil is rich on useful microelements, which passed to grape and then and to wine.
For this reason wines created on Koktebel land could not be compared with something else.
